Only works for about eight weeks a year, when a few centimetres of water sit on the salt crust and the wind stays down. We drive out to a spot where the reflection is undisturbed, set up in ankle-deep water, and shoot until the horizon stops existing.
Finding the flattest water and the calmest sector. Reflection composition and focus stacking.
The long session. Panoramas, self-portraits against the reflection, and star-trail composites.
Dawn reflection shoot, then a full editing block on horizon blending.
